A Message from Leadership

2023 was a year of progress and new partnerships. Day in and day out, the amazing CCSI workforce brought energy, inspiration, empathy and expertise to organizations working to meet urgent and complex community needs and improve the health and well-being of people across New York State – and beyond. We share just a few of these stories in this year's Annual Report:

  • The launch of a Statewide Trauma-Informed Network and Resource Center, supported by the NYS Office of Mental Health and creating opportunities for learning, connection and community that advance the state of practice;
  • Continued expansion of the Consortium of Trauma, Illness and Grief in Schools, providing critical training, resources, and support to more than 150 school communities as they respond to and recover from traumatic events; and
  • The Promise Zone program in Onondaga County, engaging students in opportunities for continued growth and success through a network of caring adults and school community partnerships.

2023 was also a year of significant reflection as we paused to take stock, to center ourselves in our purpose and in our aspirations, and set our vision for the future. As a not-for-profit provider and partner to so many public sector organizations, we are part of a critical system of care, filling painful gaps and developing solutions to meet urgent community needs. But across our sector, this important work has become increasingly difficult due to workforce shortages, needs that outstrip capacity, and funding constraints that limit the ability of organizations to build and sustain the infrastructure to foster the innovation, learning and growth that will move the needle on our thorniest problems.

Over the next three years, CCSI will build on our 30-year history as a trusted partner through a growth strategy that leverages our strengths, responds to critical needs, and amplifies the impact of our customers and partners. Importantly, this path also will create the solid and sustainable financial foundation needed to invest in our workforce, foster a culture that supports wellness, belonging, learning and innovation, and harness advances in technology to power up new ideas and better ways of working.

We bring to the coming year our strongest commitment to CCSI's mission, our belief in the possibilities that lie ahead, our deepest gratitude for the talented CCSI workforce, and pride in the trust and partnership we have forged with our customers.
