Please join us for the next installment of the Motivational Interviewing Way of Being Training Series.

For this session we will be focusing on the foundational skills of MI, the OARS. OARS acronym consists of Open-Ended Questions, Affirmations, Reflections, and Summaries. These skills are employed in the process of MI guided discussions to facilitate partnership and to evoke information around change.

The concept and usefulness of the OARS is apparent, for most practitioners, the ability to deliberately utilize these skills in real time takes practice. This session will cover the skills, the applications, and will give participants structured practice. We will also draw on the collective experience of the group and will share tips, tricks, and lessons for ways to incorporate the OARS into practice.
