A Brief Job Description:

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. Currently, Helio Health's Rochester Inpatient program is located on University Avenue. Due to our success in the region, we are moving to a freshly renovated location on Brighton Henrietta Townline Road! Now called Pathways of Helio Health, this location will better serve the community at a larger 53 bed Inpatient Rehabilitation and Medically Supervised Detox program.

To support the mission of Helio Health, the Driver/Facilities Aide will provide our clients and patients in our Inpatient Services Program with safe transportation to and from scheduled appointments. The Driver/Facilities Aide  will work on a Full-Time basis for our Inpatient Program.

Job Description:

  • The driver’s primary responsibility is the safe transport of patients to and from scheduled appointments.
  • In addition, this position includes the provision of support to the activities conducted to maintain the physical plants of the inpatient service as needed.
  • Transport patients to and from scheduled appointments. Maintain the transport log to accommodate daily transport needs.
  • Enforce safety and emergency procedures associated with the position.
  • Ensure that the transport vehicle is in compliance with New York State Motor Vehicle laws by monitoring for: a) vehicle inspection; b) vehicle registration; & c) insurance cards. Maintain vehicle trip log on a daily basis.
  • Maintain the transport vehicle: Fill with gas, windshield fluid, etc. as needed, monitor safety needs, such as tire pressure, keep the vehicle clean and operating properly, and report any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisor or other administrative staff in a timely manner.
  • Provide support to the on-going operations of the program as needed. Attend staff meetings as scheduled.

Qualifications:  .

  • Valid New York State Driver’s License.
  • High School Diploma/equivalency required.
  •  Ability to relate effectively with staff and patients.
  • Sound judgement and cultural competency.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications.

 

Physical Requirements:

Must have good visual acuity and hearing with fluency in the English language (specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus). Speech and hearing sufficient for effective and constant in-person and telephone communication. Minimum physical effort is required, with occasional lifting up to 30 pounds. Ability to bend, stand, sit, stoop, reach, push and pull on a daily and/or regular basis. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Finger manipulation and hand coordination for constant computer use. Ability to pass test for illicit substances. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position without compromising efficiency and work-flow.
