In a Recreation Specialist/Lifeguard position you will support individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities by:
• Implementing community-based recreation programs, primarily in Monroe County.
• Provide swimming instruction in a group or individual setting.
• Work collaboratively with staff at recreational venues and provide support to participants and staff as needed.
• Create a safe, supportive, and positive environment for the participants in the SportsNet and Recreation programs.

Hours of Employment: Up to 19.9 Hours / Week
• Days or Evenings Mon-Thu
• Days Fri and Sat
• Hours and days of week may vary depending on program needs

Pay Rate: Lifeguard $15.00/Hour and Recreation Specialist $14.00/Hour

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience implementing recreational activities for individuals of all ages and abilities
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience working with individuals who have a physical, learning, cognitive or social challenges.
• Experience providing aquatic instruction
• Current Lifeguard certification preferred or must be successfully completed during orientation
• Valid and clean NYS Driver’s license and have a reliable means of transportation
• Ability to drive larger vehicles with trailers preferred
• Ability to meet all agency training requirements, including CPR and First Aid certifications.
